WILL NOT AGITATE

When your washing machine will not agitate or turn on, check to see if it is not plugged in or if a circuit breaker might have flipped off. The problem could also be due to a broken latch, timer or thermal fuse. A washer that doesn’t turn on or agitate means the cogs, drive belt, coupler or transmission need immediate repair or need replacement.

DOES NOT SPIN

WILL NOT TUMBLE OR TURN ON

If your dryer does not turn on, you first want to be sure the appliance is plugged in and all of the circuit breakers are on. If the machine is plugged in and still won’t turn on or tumble, the heating element, high limit thermostat or cycling thermostat will have to be repaired or replaced.

WON’T SHUT OFF

The exact opposite problem happens when the dryer won’t shut off. The reason for this problem is usually either a broken timer or door switch.

TIMER WILL NOT ADVANCE

A dryer timer has to advance in order to complete the cycle. If the timer won’t advance, it could mean there’s a broken timer motor or cycling thermostat.
